A Night at The Races
Pisys.net sponsored an evening hosted by Swansea District Law Society which consisted of pre-recorded horse races displayed on a large screen at Swansea.com Stadium.
Eight local law firms also sponsored the races. They included, Peter Lynn and Partners, JCP Solicitors, Smith Llewelyn Partnership, Siambrau Angel Chambers, Pendragon Chambers, Hutchinson Thomas, Iscoed Chambers and Red Kite.
Fun and creativity begun immediately with each company naming their race, the eight horses and jockeys. At £1 a go per race to take part, a collection of money went towards supporting Alzheimer’s Cymru and West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company.
Formed in 1879 the Swansea & District Law Society set up support for solicitors within Swansea, as well as building support for students at the Law School from Swansea University. The Society helps to raise funds for charities and to encourage others to get involved.
“We would like to say a massive thank you Pisys.net for their valued contribution to the Swansea & District Law Society Race Night on Friday 10 June– not just for being our headline sponsor but also for taking the time to come along to the event and being such good sports with the racing!
The Swansea & District Law Society has been supporting solicitors in Swansea area (including Neath, Port Talbot, and Llanelli) for 140 years. We hold regular meetings, social and training events for our members and in recent years have placed significant focus on raising funds for worthwhile causes and charities.
Each incoming President will nominate charities for support during their term and this year we are pleased to be supporting Alzheimer’s Cymru and West Glamorgan Youth Theatre Company. Our Race Night was our first event to raise funds for these charities and we are delighted that we were able to raise over £850 for the charities on the evening.
We were introduced to Pisys.net by our President, Mr Peter Lynn of Peter Lynn & Partners, and hope that this will be the first of many opportunities for us to work together.” – Sophie Thomas, Committee Member for Swansea & District Law Society
“The benefits of the law industry working with Pisys.net is peace of mind for the customers. Knowing if there are any problems, they just have one number to call without having to worry about facilitating communications, between third party vendors” – Jason Jones, Help Desk Manager at Pisys.net
Cyber criminals are seeking personal information and anything that can be used to obtain more information to gain access. Phishing is the main method of cyber attacks on law firms, and they are tweaking their techniques daily.
Multi-factor authentication is the easiest and biggest deterrent to ensure your safety online. You can also add rules to visually amend emails received from external sources. Some more tips include following up emails with confirmation phone-calls. Having strong passwords which are not written down anywhere, as tempting as it might be.
